Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Aberdare National ParK
Upon arrival in Nairobi, your guide will meet and brief you about the tour before departing for Aberdare National Park. The park covers 766km2 and forms part of the Aberdare Range. Aberdare Range is a mountain range that encompasses many landscapes – from mountain peaks to deep, v-shaped valleys intersected by streams, rivers, and waterfalls. Your lunch is served at Aberdare Country Club. After lunch, you will check into The Ark, a hotel modeled after Noah’s Ark with four viewing decks with balconies and lounges. The layout of the hotel provides superb game viewing from the comfort of the hotel. In addition, you will see animals arriving at the floodlit waterhole and salt lick close to the hotel. Your dinner and overnight stay are at The Ark.
Day 2: Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, you will depart for Lake Nakuru National Park. En route to the park, you will see the breathtaking scenery that makes up the landscape of the Great Rift Valley. We will briefly stop at the Subukia Viewpoint to appreciate the spectacular surroundings. We will arrive in time for lunch and check in at the Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge. A game drive is scheduled in Lake Nakuru National Park in the afternoon. Once the game drive concludes, you will return to the hotel for dinner and your overnight stay.
Lake Nakuru is one of the Rift Valley lakes and lies 1754m (5755ft) above sea level. It lies south of Nakuru, in Kenya’s rift valley, and is protected by Lake Nakuru National Park. The lake’s abundance of algae attracts a vast quantity of flamingos that lines the lake’s shore. Other birds, as do warthogs, baboons, and other large mammals, also flourish in the area. Eastern black and southern white rhinos have also been introduced in the area.
Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, we check out of the lodge and make our way to the world-famous Masai Mara National Reserve, traveling via Narok. Upon arrival at Masai Mara National Reserve, a game drive will commence. Check-in and lunch are at Enkorok Mara Camp, with an afternoon game drive. Once the game drive is complete, we return to the camp for dinner and our overnight stay.
Day 4: Masai Mara National Reserve
After breakfast, we depart for a full day of game drives in the reserve while carrying lunch boxes. You can visit a Masai village in the afternoon (payment for this activity is at the village). Your dinner and overnight stay are again at the Enkorok Mara Camp.
Masai Mara offers a unique variety of animals. The reason is that this hilly region is both humid and fertile. The Mara and Talek rivers are full of crocodiles and hippos as the rivers carry water the whole year round. The banks of the rivers are covered in thick forest, which gradually makes way for bush and grassland. The abundance of water and excellent food availability is why the Masai Mara, a continuance of the Tanzanian Serengeti National Park, has Africa’s most significant population of wild animals. A theatrical “spectacle” takes place between July and November each year when huge herds of gnus and zebras migrate through this area.
Day 5: Nairobi
After an early breakfast, we make our way back to Nairobi. En route, you have one last game drive and visit the supermarket for souvenirs. After lunch, we will drop you off at the airport, where our tour concludes.
