Safari Overview
The above safari takes you to Kenya’s most famous parks. Bursting with biodiversity, the Samburu National Reserve lies on the fringes of the vast arid desert to the north. It hosts rare mammals such as the Grevy’s zebra, the beisa oryx, the reticulated giraffes, and the Somali ostrich. You’ll encounter flocks of lesser and greater flamingos when you visit Lake Nakuru National Park. Lastly, visit Masai Mara, home to over 5 million animals, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and herbivores.

Day to Day Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi – Aberdares National Park
You’ll be picked up from your hotel in the morning and proceed to Aberdare National Park, located about 150km (93 miles) east of Nairobi. Arrive in time for lunch at the hotel and later proceed for an afternoon game drive in search of the rare black rhinos, leopards, baboons, and Colobus monkeys. Enjoy this beautifully scenic region much more relaxed than the savannahs and offers an entirely different perspective on the country. The scenery is spectacular, with its mountainous terrain covered in thick tropical forests shrouded in mist. Dinner and your overnight stay are at The Ark Lodge.
Day 2: Aberdares National Park – Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, depart for Samburu, passing through hush farmlands, crossing the Equator and proceeding to Samburu National Reserve, located in a rugged semi-desert region.
Have lunch at Samburu Sopa Lodge/Similar Lodge. Afterwards, enjoy afternoon game drives.
Samburu Game Reserve is home to rare wildlife species, including the Beisa oryx, reticule giraffes, Maasai ostrich and Gravy’s zebras. Dinner and overnight stay are at Ashnil Samburu Camp.
Day 3: Samburu National Reserve Full Treat
After breakfast, head out for a full day of game viewing drive in this dry semi-arid park with its striking background view of the Mathew’s Range. The surrounding terrain is renowned for rare wildlife—long-necked gerenuk, Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, and the Beisa oryx. Leopards frequently pass by. Drive through the gently flowing Uaso Nyiro River, which traverses this park and provides evergreen vegetation for the wildlife found in this park. Game drives and bird-watching safaris are ideal for experiencing the native wildlife in its natural splendour. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Ashnil Samburu Camp.
Day 4: Samburu National Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, depart Samburu National Reserve for Lake Nakuru National Park in the Great Rift Valley, passing through the arid lands and the highlands of Kenya. After lunch, go for an exciting game drive until 6.30 pm in the evening. The birdlife here is world-renowned, and over 400 bird species exist here including white pelicans, plovers, egrets, and Marabou stork. It is also one of the few places in Africa to see the white and black rhino and rare Rothschild giraffe. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge.
Day 5: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara National Reserve
Have an early morning breakfast. After breakfast, leave Lake Nakuru for Masai Mara, a 5-hour drive. You will pass through Narok town, the famous Maasai town. You’ll arrive in time for lunch. Check-in at Ashnil Mara camp or Sarova Mara Game Camp and have lunch. Day 6: Full Immersion into the Masai Mara
After breakfast, proceed on a full day of game viewing within the reserve. The landscape here is scenic savannah grassland on rolling hills. The Masa Mara is the best Park for a game drive in Kenya as it has an extensive road and track network, allowing for close-range viewing and photography. Break for your picnic lunch at the hippo pool, looking out for hippos and crocodiles.
In the evening, you’ll return to the hotel. Here, you can catch a sundowner in the evening or relax by the poolside. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the Pride Inn Mara Camp.
